We're hacking the focus feed for the second straight week because we're doing something

different.

Sports is a passion for billions of people.

Sometimes that passion pushes fans and players and coaches and team owners to make emotional decisions, even when

the data suggests otherwise. Every week, as long as they let me, I'm going to dive into the

balance between what the numbers outline and what the heart wants. This is called facts versus

feelings. Let's dig in.

All right, it's story time. Many, many, many, well, gosh, not that many moons ago. I was, believe

it or not, a fresh-faced, bright-eyed blonde who arrived in Los Angeles

with dreams of becoming, wait for it, actress. That was very original. I know. But here's the

thing. I didn't want to be an actress just to be famous. In fact, if I remember correctly, I would like cringe at

every commercial audition. They are so cheesy. And I did, to my credit, book a bunch of dramas.

though, I don't actually want you to do that because I don't want to hear it.

Anyway, I booked a bunch of dramas.

I found them all pretty boring because what I really wanted to do, if I'm being honest, was to make people laugh.

And so, as a diligent first-born daughter with a Virgo moon, I found the top-rated, most highly acclaimed comedy-intensive in town, and I threw my everything, including my little baby-sized

savings account into studying there. And those were some days, y'all. I mean, we were young,
