Dr. Joseph is also a clinical assistant professor for child and adolescent psychiatry at NYU medical center

and she's conducted extensive research in various areas of mental health.

Yeah, I would love to get started, if you don't mind,

just to learn a little bit about what sparks your interest in, obviously medicine, but specifically

psychiatry.

Everyone has a body, so we all have physical help, but we all also have a brain, and so we all have mental health and I think a lot of people don't acknowledge their mental health and they don't take the steps to protect their mental health the way that they do their physical health. You know, There's no annual mental health checkup,

but there are annual physicals for pediatric

and adult populations.

And when we neglect our mental health,

that mind-body connection is so strongly important and relevant in terms of our day-to-day functioning that if we neglect our mind-body connection, then we suffer.
