So we'll go ahead and get started. And when we get started in just a moment, we will be picking up at the beginning of Exodus chapter 17. So we're still in

the midst of, this is still kind of the same story that we talked about last time.

The Israelites having Cross-Ritsi are now out in the wilderness.

They're on their way to Mount Sinai.

They're in between.

And there were sort of two problems that presented themselves last time that got the Israelites very upset and grumbling and angry and blaming Moses and blaming God for taking them out in the desert to die.

And that's that they didn't have food and they didn't have water.

And so last time we sort of read the story about how God dealt with the food issue

by sending them on that one occasion, sending them quail to eat so they had meat to eat

and then daily sending them manna from heaven, which was a bread-like substance, as we read.

Every day enough for that day.

And then on Fridays, the day before the Sabbath, sort of a double amount so that they could save enough to eat on the Sabbath without having to go out and gather.

And we read about how other than that one day, if they tried to save any overnight,

like to stockpile it or to take more than they needed,

whatever they tried to save overnight would rot very quickly.

And so they would have to go out the next day anyway and gather for that day.

So that sort of took care of the food issue.

And we read kind of speaking in advance, because of course this is, I mean, it goes without
