Verse 9, then Moses spoke to Aaron, say to all the congregation of the children of Israel, come near before God, for he has heard your complaints. Now,

when Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, they looked toward the desert

and behold the Lord's glory appeared in the cloud.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses saying,

I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel.

Speak to them saying, at twilight you shall eat meat.

And in the morning you shall be filled with bread.

Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.

Right.

So now God comes back, manifests himself, and repeats what Moses had said. Right. And notice

this phrase again. So we talked about this

back when we were talking about God

referring to himself as Yahweh, giving the name

Yahweh to Moses, right, as his name.

We talked about how Yahweh, when you translate it, is a verb that is, well, it's a participle, meaning it's a verbal noun,

but it's a verb being used as a noun.

That means he who causes things to be.

Right.

And so one of the problems with in English translations not leaving it as a name and replacing it with a lord is that you get things like this, then you will know that I am the Lord your God.
