First of all, I had to double check my calendar and go,

wait, is this April Fool's Day? What's going on?

It really was the retirement that shocked racing.

How long were you thinking about it?

I suppose it was in my mind for a few weeks

and look, I'm 43. I've had an amazing time of doing what I love doing.

Unfortunately, my body doesn't bounce and as well anymore.

It felt like it was the right time for me and as I wasn't in with a chance

in a jockey championship, unfortunately this year.

I thought it was the right thing to do not finish at the end of the season.

I think yeah, Chelten for me was, I was obviously, obviously I was

gutted one time here, obviously couldn't run there in the stairs hurdle

and then native river road, you know, I felt like he had a,
