Hi, Katie.

We've been left state side as Richard and Rebecca jet off to Cannes.

You'll hear from both of them later on before they left.

We all sat down for a preview of the Cannes Film Festival, which is kicking off.

This week, as you hear this, some of the films have already premiered.

There's a lot to get into. We'll get there with Richard and Rebecca who will be watching.

It'll happen on the ground and they'll be checking in from Cannes next week.

So we can hear more about what's been going on over there.

But before that, there is news still happening in the United States, especially the writer strike,

which continues onward and has started to affect actual award shows already.

We've talked about it throughout on this show because it's what we focus on about the ways that it could affect the Emmys.

And they already did affect the MTV movie and TV awards.

It has now canceled the Peabody Awards, which were supposed to happen on June 11th.

And we'll alter in some way the Tony Awards as we record this on Tuesday.

This morning that they announced that they basically struck a deal with the WGA so that the Tony's could happen.
