You've got to prepare, prepare for the noise, prepare for the emotions that come, and that's what our season has done for us.

We've been through a lot of that.

Your host, Greg McElroy, and we are so happy to have you here with us on our rivalry week preview show.

It's my favorite week of the college football season. I think you guys, if you love the sport the way we love the sport, you probably feel the same way.

The outcomes that will be determined in this weekend's games you have to live with

for the next 365 days. So a lot is on the line, not just on the field, but also in a lot of

fans' personal lives. So it's important to put your best foot forward this week because you don't

want to live with the ramifications of coming up short to your rival and having to hear about it all the time from your friends and family that are probably in close proximity

to you. I love rivalry week. I think it makes our sport different. You look in other sports,

the NFL, for example, great rivalries in the NFL, but they play each other twice a year at the

very least. Great rivalries in the

MLB with the Yankees of Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants. There's a ton that are very impactful, but they

play each other 18 times a year. In college football, you get one shot in the regular season to

play your rival. You might see them now with how things have changed. You might see them a couple times. It's possible, but we haven't really seen a lot of repeat matchups in the postseason just yet. Granted, just one year, the 12-team playoff that we have to rely on. But it's fun nonetheless. You want to get this win. It's a legacy game and one that people will remember forever in the

event in which you're victorious or in the event in which you lose. One of the observation

this week and rival week often leads to chaos. It's not uncommon to see the underdog in many

situations rise up and play to a level beyond that of what

was expected. But do you realize how many college football playoff contenders are on the road this

week? We know it's hard to go on the road in college football, right? I'm not telling you anything

you don't know, but just so you know and we'll break down a bunch of these games.
