Former Vice President Kamala Harris says she won't run for California governor in

26. The move ends months of speculation about her mounting a political comeback after losing

the presidential race. In a statement today, Harris said she had reflected deeply and decided

not to seek elected office for now.

Harris, a former senator and California Attorney General, was considered a top contender to

succeed Governor Gavin Newsom.

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the brutal Cincinnati brawl.

Jermaine Matthews was arrested in charge with aggravated riot and assault for his role in the

alarming incident in downtown Cincinnati over the weekend. Five people have been charged so far,

three of whom have been arrested. Along with Matthews, police nabbed 34-year-old Montiana's

Maryweather and 24-year-old Decura Vernon. They're both facing charges of felonious assault and aggravated riot.

Meanwhile, the FBI has confirmed that it's actively investigating the violent incident.

A 15-year-old Kentucky boy is dead after trying to protect his mom from an alleged rape attempt by her boyfriend.

A man, authorities say, is in the U.S. illegally.

Mexican national Guadardo Amandor Martinez is accused

of shooting Luis Lopez in the face after the teen intervened. The boy's younger sister was also wounded.

Homeland security officials blame federal border policy saying Martinez has crossed illegally
