Wednesday, October 8th, 2025. I'm John Sossier. The negotiations continue in Egypt to try and find an end of this terrible war between Israel and Hamas. As the world holds its breath, President Trump and other international partners seem hopeful.

This plan that Trump is proposing has a backing of the Arab world.

That is huge.

Even Iran appears to be on board as strange and remarkable as that sounds.

This is the Fox News Rundown, evening edition.

We're starting to see some signs that the negotiations to end the war between Israel and

Hamas are getting serious.

President Trump speaking during a roundtable at the White House today and was asked if he

might himself head to Egypt where the talks are taking place.

I may go there sometime toward the end of the week, maybe on Sunday.

This deal would require Hamas to release all remaining hostages in exchange for Israel, releasing Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas would also have to disarm, but there was a word from

Egypt. The terror group says they're only willing to freeze weapons, not actually hand them over.

Either way, it seems a little surprising that Hamas was even ready to entertain this deal after

two full years of bloodshed. While they're giving the right signals, we've been there before.

We're speaking today with New York-based foreign policy expert, Harley Lipman.

They try to manipulate public opinion.

They've got a stranglehold certainly over Israel emotionally because they still have

at least 20 live Israeli hostages who have been tortured and who have been held in tunnels for two years now,

which is, I just can't even begin to imagine what their life is like.

So, but at the same time, we are very hopeful.
