Hello, my name is James Acaster, and in 2017, I had a breakdown.

I dealt with that breakdown by buying as much music from 2016 as as as humanly possible

and as a result, I now own over 600 albums that came out in 2016

and I'm convinced it's the greatest year for music of all time.

But it's not enough for me being convinced.

I also want to convince each and every single one of you,

plus a guest every week.

This week my guest is Evelyn Mock,

and in advance, I've sent her the album Boy Man Machine by Dros.

I took the boy and watched him.

Dros are a band from Columbus, Ohio. They are an experimental metal band and with heavy emphasis on experimental.

This is a very weird and abstract record.

The whole concept of it is like a technophobic nightmare of sorts.

There's a lot of sampling of machinery throughout the album, a lot of repetition, a lot of very minimal performances by all three musicians.

I'm very keen to see where Evelyn thinks of this.

I don't think it's necessarily something she would listen to normally,

but you can't not be intrigued by this record.

By the way, if you don't know who Evelyn mocked, she's a fantastic comedian, I've spoke to her before.
