It was a very good night in New York sports last night.

Nick's going up 3-2, Yankees holding on and beating Texas and the Mets, getting a much-needed to blowout victory over the Washington Nationals. But I was set off last night because hypocrisy bothers me, even from the people I admire and really like. I admire Gary Cohen. I really like Gary Cohen. I mean, he's one of the greatest broadcasters I've ever heard. But that doesn't

stop me from being very annoyed with his hypocrisy. And so I'll explain it to you, Tietiki, because I

think you will come out on my side. Last night, Daniel Murphy was in the booth because Keith

Hernandez is still recovering from back surgery, and Ron Darling is taking a series off,

which he deserves.

Right.

So Daniel Murphy, the former Met, was in the booth, and they were just, you know, kind of

reminding you of how good Daniel Murphy was, especially because they were playing the

nationals, a team that Daniel Murphy ended up signing with and having great success with, especially

against the Mets.

So when they were kind of showing you Daniel Murphy's

success against the Mets as a national, Gary Cohen uttered this line.

Painful watching you in a match uniform. Painful, I tell you.

It was much briefer than in a Mets uniform. It was painful, Gary. Is that what you said?

You said it was painful Gary Cohen? Fissue Daniel Murphy in the Nationals jersey? Well, I'm going to expose you because I've been here a long time and I love you and you used to come on with Joe and I, and you said things. And there's something that you said that still lives in FAA in history. So I'm going to present to you a little WFN flashback of Gary Cohen talking about Daniel Murphy right before he got to free agency.

Look, Murphy's a lovable guy, and he's, you know, but I think he's a net negative.

And I've always felt that way. I remember that. You think he's a net negative, and I've always felt that way.

I remember that. You think he's a net negative? Okay. I have no interest in bringing back to him. Really? I'm very surprised. You see that. So you watch this guy play every day. No, I understand, but he's too good a hitter, and the guy's a tremendous hitter. He's a nice hitter.

And he's hit some home runs lately.

But he doesn't get, he's not a high on base percentage guy. He's not a big power hitter. He's a good hitter. He's a good hitter. He's a good hitter. He's a good six to seven hitter and a good lineup. That's what he is. and he hurts you so badly in the field and all the bases and all the craziness, I think it's time to move on.

Don't tell me how much you pained you to seem as a national. You basically wanted him there. You kicked him out of town. And look, that was your opinion. We're all entitled to opinions. Some are going to be right. Some are going to be wrong. That was a really wrong opinion. And that's okay. I have a lot of really wrong
