We begin with the climate report, it is cold, it is winter, a bammy time in New England, but cold in France, especially in the south of France,

where there is a new meter to gauge the winter.

It's called the Wild Boer meter for Simon Constable.

Simon, as I understand, Wild Boers roam the pasture land all around where you are planted at the moment and you've met another wild boar in your

garden. How big, Simon, do we measure this boar?

Well, it was actually my wife who met the large wild board that was jet black and along with its giant tusks.

It was inside our garden and it was at the end of the day while it was still light but getting

dark my wife noticed it right inside our garden it does happen to be part of hunting

season so maybe it was seeking refuge from hunters

who were out with their rifles trying to search

for dinner that night or dinner in a few weeks or months

or whatever they do.

So it was very interesting, but it just tells you exactly how

burden this area is that we live in.

We go to the rest of Europe, because we're all watching right now a celebration 25 years since the birth of the euro. How's it doing Simon?

The euro is doing remarkably well.

Creating a new currency and getting it to take hold really is quite an achievement.

So it was introduced in 1999 the first day of the year and that's why we were looking at it at the Wall Street Journal. So it's 25 years since January 1999 when it was introduced.
