The ESPN Football Power Index came down this week, and it makes it very clear that the

Big 12 conference has by far the most parody of any conference in college football going into the

2024 season.

in the mix to win the Big 12 this year. Before I get to the numbers around the teams, who's in front,

if you don't know the Football Power Index for ESPN, here's how it works. Basically,

it's a complex, algorithmic way for ESPN to project who's going to win the Big 12, it's a complex algorithmic way for ESPN to project.

Who's going to win the Big 12?

Who's going to make the college football playoff?

Who's going to most likely win the national championship?

They basically write teams based on their strength relative to an average FBS squad.

They use the numbers, teams rated on offense, defense, special teams.

They then simulate it 20,000 times.
