Welcome into another edition of the WogePod here with Bobby Mark, CSPN's front office

insider in the middle of a lot of news, a lot of action in the NBA.

Bobby, let's start in Boston with the news yesterday of Danny Aege's retirement. 18 years as the Celtics president of basketball

operation stepping down. And now Brad Stevens, after eight years as head coach of the Celtics,

moving up to take Aege's job, run the front office,

lead behind coaching for now, and hire a new coach.

What was your initial reaction to not just age leaving, but them not doing a search,

not going out into the marketplace and seeing who they could get to run their

organization, but just promoting Brad Stevens. Well, I think taking it with with Danny first,

I wasn't surprised just because, you know, the grind of this business took its toll on him.

And having been there, you know, what, 18 years and

coming off a year, this year where a lot of turmoil, a lot of, you know, with the COVID

protocols, and I think he mentioned that in this press conference, how the team played,

you know, kind of the low expectations here.

I wasn't surprised on that end, just because, as I said, I think it took it.

So I was surprised on the Brad Stevens end, just from you already have, you're basically taking a high level coach.

So now you're going to have to go replace him and putting somebody who, let's face it,

doesn't have front office expertise in the role of where Danny is.
