U.S. Representative David Scott has died.

David Scott has been in the House of Representatives for 23 years,

50 years of elected office total. He was 80 years old. His death has now been confirmed by his office.

He was running again for a 13th term in office in his Metro Atlanta, Georgia District.

He was known, by the way, as a very fierce advocate for Georgia farmers.

A lot of Georgia farmers worked with David Scott.

He was also perceived to be one of the more centrist Democrats,

who was regularly campaigned against by progressives in his district trying to oust him, including this time. And his health has been failing for some times. And a lot of people

were surprised he decided to run again. Well, God has his own term limits. And those term limits
