Hey there from CNN. I'm Krista Bow with the five things you Need to Know for Tuesday, July 22nd.

The Justice Department says it's trying to set up a meeting with a longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein's Galane Maxwell,

as pressure grows on the Trump administration to release what the government knows about the crimes of Epstein and his associates.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement that officials could meet with Maxwell

in the coming days to hear if she has any quote information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for carrying out a years-long scheme with Epstein to groom and sexually abuse underage girls.

This comes as President Donald Trump gave Attorney General Pam Bondi the green light

to request a judge unseal years-old grand jury testimony against Epstein.

These latest moves are attempts to answer calls from the MAGA base for more transparency.

After the DOJ released a memo earlier this month, saying its review had not revealed a so-called

client list and backing the FBI's conclusion that Epstein's death was a suicide.

House Speaker Mike Johnson is also saying any vote in the chamber seeking to turn over materials

related to the Epstein case will be delayed until at least September.

Republican Congressman Thomas Massey, who's leading the bipartisan effort to force a vote, thinks that's a mistake.
