D mission must die.

When we last left a mission, well, you must admit, Rome gave him a pretty decent chance

to get his act together.

He's been emperor for a long time, but finally it's got to the point where enough is enough. Here's Rianna Evans.

While Demission was the way on campaign in the late 80s,

a conspiracy is mounted against him,

and this could have ended his reign at that point.

And the leader of it is a man called Saturninus and he actually conspires

with some of the Germanic peoples who Domition is a way in this area to take part in this conspiracy.

Demission actually gets lucky here because these tribes are meant to cross the river

Rhine during the winter while it's frozen over.

But Suetonius tells us that the Rhine

thought and they couldn't get over so they couldn't be part of the conspiracy and

it's found out and in 89 Sutterinus is executed.

So Domitians troops clean this up while he's away and he comes back to this situation then.

How does he react?

Because in the past some emperors are quite merciful, some just

banish people, what does Domition do? Well, Domition executes everybody he can find
