For modern Spain, there are very relevant and influential events that happen during that long period before the Muslim conquest.

The cultural and linguistic romanization has lasted to this day in Spain, and the Christianization

of the Iberian Peninsula happened in the Hispania under the Roman Empire.

On the other hand, the memory of the Bisi Gothic kingdom has been tremendously influential

for the history of Spain, because medieval Christian kings used that to legitimize their conquests

and eventually unite politically and religiously the Iberian Peninsula.

Therefore, it's important to understand all these aspects before you study anything

that happened afterwards in the Iberian Peninsula.
