Summary

On today's episode, Dennis is joined again by 22+ year law enforcement veteran, national law enforcement trainer and writer for police publications, Cpt. Kory Flowers.

Cpt. Kory Flowers is a 22-year veteran with the Greensboro (NC) Police Department. Flowers trains law enforcement officers nationwide on various subversive criminal groups, leadership, and tactical communication. He is a frequent contributor to police and a true believer in great leadership, setting the right examples and supporting each other.

Today, Dennis and Cpt. Flowers discuss the failure of the Defund the Police movement, sticking it out through hard times, finding the right people for this profession, being grateful for what you have, separating work and home life, being a professional and continuing to show up to do the job day in and day out.

0:45.1

2024 street cop conference. You know you think about the last several dark years you know where our profession gets slandered a lot. But, you know, we're coming out of that. And I think honestly, like in hindsight, all of the defund the police nonsense, I think I think that's been one of the better things for our profession.

1:54.4

It was an abject failure. So, you know, it's interesting. A lot of times things that we tend to think, man, that's the worst thing.

2:00.3

You just kind of, you know, hang on, ride through it, and on the other side, you know, we're not out there standing on the street corner saying I told you so. But the experiment failed. I mean, shockingly enough, there is instability there's evil there's you know just meanness
