patient and on the eighth day of her

treatment in a mental institution she escaped. Then she started this

podcast and on the eighth episode she killed her co-host at the end of the episode.

School is back in session and so are we.

So in today's episode, we're trying something a little bit different but hopefully you'll dig on it

we are going to be talking about urban legends in film.

Last week we discussed folklore as a gauge for the values of the society that created them.

Today, today we get more specific.

So now to start with, I think we all think we know what urban legends are, but I think some definition

of terms is in order.

An urban legend can be defined as an often lurid story or anecdote that's based on hearsay and widely circulated as true.

More often than not, there's something that happens to a friend of a friend which makes it seem like it's

really close to you and yet it's not really verifiable and in my experience I almost

feel like when I hear something that sounds like an urban legend I don't want it to be verifiable because it's merit and its purpose which we're going to get into in this episode it kind of doesn't matter
