0:19.3	In this episode, we're going to look at Anarchy in England.
0:23.5	We'll see how England descended into chaos and warfare, and we'll look at the horrible
0:28.5	consequences for the people of England.
0:31.8	These were also the final years recorded by the Peterborough Chronicle, and the scribe
0:36.7	who recorded those entries famously concluded that Christ and His saints were asleep.
0:42.7	He summarized this history with some of the most vivid imagery in the entire Anglo-Saxon
0:47.2	Chronicle.
0:48.8	The passages are moving, and they describe horrible acts.
0:53.1	But more importantly for our purposes, those passages illustrate some major changes in
0:58.1	the English language.
0:59.9	So while English politics were descending into chaos and anarchy, the English language
1:04.8	was experiencing a revolution of its own.
