Summary

We’ve all been there: the moment when that must-have houseplant leaps off the shelf and into your basket (real or virtual) and you have absolutely no idea how you are going to fit it into your home. In this episode I hear from a couple of listeners - Ehren Wessel and Letty Reynaldo - about their plant addictions, and I chat to hoarding expert Jo Cooke about how to know if you have a problem with hoarding houseplants, and what you can do to improve the situation.

1:05.3	us, the house plant obsession can go a bit far. We've all been there that moment when that must-have house plant just leaps out at you and you must have it,
1:15.8	even though you don't really know anything about it, or possibly you don't have anywhere to put it.

1:23.3	Here's listener Aaron Wessel of the Central United States, who fell very heavily for a very large fern.
1:31.7	I bought a fern from a grower in Florida.
1:35.3	It's called the giant leather fern, actiniopterus.
1:39.2	And it is, I got it in the mail.
1:42.2	It was about seven feet tall.
1:47.4	And it did not fit on any of my tables at all. And the rhizome for it was too big to fit in the pot that I had gotten for it.
1:53.4	So I had to kind of like haphazardly pot it up in a box outside for the summer.
1:58.4	Sound familiar? Yeah, thought so.
2:06.0	Well, I'm glad to say that Erin did manage to keep his fern and find a way of fitting it into his apartment.
