My guest this week needs very little introduction. If you’ve ever studied lighting you’ve probably read some of his research. Bruce Bugbee is a professor at Utah State University and President of Apogee Instruments. He is internationally known for his work with NASA to design food production systems for people living on Mars and has been a frequent speaker at conferences on indoor food production on Earth. In 2011 he received the Governors Medal for Science from Utah Governor Gary Herbert. He has recorded several videos on photobiological principles; search for “bugbee agriculture”. 1:18.6	who may not be as familiar with you and your work and research?
1:23.1	Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
1:27.6	I'm a professor at Utah State University, and specifically a professor in the College of
1:36.2	Agriculture, and more specifically, my classes are plant physiology and plant nutrition.
1:44.8	Those are the things I teach and the research I do.
1:50.1	About close to 40 years ago now, I got funded, very early in my career, I get funded by NASA for plants in space and living on the moon, living on Mars.
2:03.7	And that got my students and I into doing photobiology way before there was any LEDs.
