I'm so excited to share my interview this week.

I had the privilege of interviewing Don Marshall.

Don is a good friend, a spirited educator,

landscape designer, and horticultural professional who established one of the top horticulture

programs in Washington State over 40 years ago at Lake Washington Institute of Technology.

In addition to teaching, Don is a certified professional horticulturalist, eco-pro, and certified arborist.

He owns and operates plant designs, a landscape design, installation, and maintenance firm

specializing in organic fine gardening. Now retired from teaching, he is enjoying growing for himself

and his extended family and friends. I actually went back to school two years ago when I heard

he was retiring just so I could take his classes on botany, as he is one of the most knowledgeable people and best educators I've ever met.

I'm so grateful he agreed to come on the show.

Hi Don, thanks for coming on the show today. I

really appreciate it. Hi, Ted. Thank you. Yeah, so I wanted to start off talking a little bit

about your background. You've shared a little bit off air with me about how you got into

horticulture and teaching. Can you share a little of that with our audience? Sure, I'd love to. I have kind of an odd background in that I was interested in plants from age five,

and I always wanted to work with plants. I mowed lawns, I worked in greenhouses, I worked in nurseries, even as a kid.
