Let's get started and talking a little bit about human capital and education

and basically the state of play in the world of higher education today.

So we're going to cover several aspects of our card system for higher education in American Europe. And we're going to get into

issues around business school education that you both have been writing about recently. You are

collaborating together with others for a book, which is going to come out later this year.

So we should all watch out for the publication of that book. But I wanted us to start with

the role of education in today's economy and the role of education more generally. I think a common

proposition among a lot of people is that the economy gets more dependent on knowledge and human

capital, and therefore it is motivated that a large share of our spending goes to higher education.
