Thank you very much for having us. Thank you so much. It's wonderful to be here. Oynette, tell us about foodborne diseases. How do they happen? Where do these diseases come from? And who are the most affected people? When we talk about foodborne diseases, we're basically referring to illnesses caused by harmful pathogens like bacteria, viruses,

parasites or fungi, that can sneak into our food when we are at least expecting it anywhere along the food supply chain. These pathogens can be found in a variety of foods, including meat, dairy

products, fruits, vegetables, or even water that's been contaminated.

The tricky part is that contamination can happen anywhere along the food chain,

right from where the animals are raised or the crops are grown,
