Today's episode of Anime Out of Context discusses a recent tragedy that resulted in the loss of 35 human lives.

When we do not want to make light of the matter, at the heart of our show we are a comedy podcast,

and we feel that it would be most respectful for us to honor those whose lives were lost and the legacy that they've left behind by performing our show the way we know best.

The show where I attempt to explain the sometimes weird,

sometimes wonderful,

but always hilarious world of anime.

And I respectfully disagree with anime I don't like

because I'm not a savage.

And I'm Remington Chase.

Remington, today is going to be a bit of a serious episode.

Because Remington, the anime community, and I would say just the world community as a whole, has suffered a terrible tragedy.

This tragedy I don't know a ton about, but I know the bare basics, and I know enough that it is really messed up.

It is considered the worst mass killing in Japan's history since World War, too. Dang! Which it blows the mind that something like this could even happen,

especially not to a studio like Kyo Annie or Kyoto Animations as its full title is. Remington,

so I felt that it would be a good idea to do an episode on one of my favorite Kyoto anime productions, because though this deep and horrible

tragedy has happened and it pains my heart that this has happened, I wanted to put out an

episode to show that we still love and care for the studio.

And we want to show our support by talking about one of our favorite things that they have produced,

or at least one of my favorite things that they've produced. Whether or not you like it, that's up to you.
