I'm your host, Lindsay, bringing you another episode in the year of Ligamy series,

where we try to understand the doctrine and practice of Mormon plural marriage

and see how it intersects with our life today.

And I'm really excited to do this episode.

This is an episode that at first blush doesn't

seem like it would be important or interesting, which I'm kind of ashamed to say that. I've been

poked and prodded to do this episode by a few of my historian friends, and I've finally sat down

and done the research. So I just want to say that this episode is especially dedicated to two people I admire,

Carolyn Pearson and Joe Geisner, who encouraged me to do this research.
