This is Episode 63, Restorations and Remedies.

In this episode, we're going to take the story of English to the eve of the Norman Conquest.

The underlying theme of this episode is Restorations and Remedies.

We'll begin with a political restoration, the restoration of the Wessex Monarchy under

Edward the Confessor.

We'll examine the events which occurred during the first half of his reign.

We'll also look at a different type of restoration, the restoration of health.

So this is sort of the second part of the last episode.

Last time we looked at sickness and disease.

So this time we'll look at the way the Anglo-Saxons treated sickness and disease.
