Summary

I'm still not totally sure how to put words around this conversation. It was just so so good. And fun (of course). Comedian John Crist and I, as you will hear, have been sharing event posters for years, but this is our first opportunity to be friends. But when you guys request a guest OVER AND OVER, I do my best to get them on the show! I knew John would be funny, we all knew he'd be funny, but I had no idea how profound and honest and kind he would be. What a good dude... he may be restoring my faith in male enneagram 3s. :) If you weren't a fan of John before, you will be now. Make sure you follow him on social media, head to his shows when he's in your town, and buy up all his swag. :) http://johncristcomedy.com http://100daystobrave.com http://anniefdowns.com #thatsoundsfunpodcast ... join in the conversation wherever hashtags are welcome. :)  Thanks to our friends at ThirdLove for sponsoring this episode! Hi, friends. Welcome to another episode of That Sounds Fun. I'm your host, Annie F. Downs,

0:11.6

and I'm so glad we are here together today. First of all, I want to thank our buddy from

0:16.4

last week, Dave Barnes, for this great music you are hearing in and out of our segments.

0:22.2

His new album, Who New It Would Be So Hard To Be Myself Released just last week, and it is so

0:27.5

good, so make sure you pick it up. Today on the show is our most, I think our most requested

0:34.4

guest ever, comedian John Christ. You know how I am? The people that I bring on this show are either

0:40.4

people that I'm a fan of, or my actual friends, that I really want you to know. My very favorite

0:45.6

thing is introducing my friends to my friends, and John and I have kind of run in the same world

0:49.9

for long enough that it totally felt like that. So it's really fun for me to get to have him on

0:54.6

the show, and to get to make you guys happy, because that's who you've been requesting.

0:58.4

A couple of things I want you to know about this episode to help you put this in perspective. I don't

1:03.4

know that I've ever told you what it looks like where we record. Sometimes you've heard people talk

1:06.8

about it, but today, John and I recorded at my dad's office in Marietta, Georgia, and so he's a CPA,

1:13.7

so we're sitting at the desk, and with one microphone between us, and he's on one side of the

1:18.8

desk, I'm on the other, surrounded by boxes of tax returns. So you can just imagine that,

1:22.8

if John's on one side, I'm on the other. Also, my assistant was in the room with us as well,

1:27.1

so you may hear us reference her a couple of times. So I just want you to know that if it sounds a

1:31.6

little bit differently, it is an anti-problem, not a producer problem. Chad's the very best. It is

1:36.5

because I only had one microphone, and we were just doing the best we could. Also, John and I talk

1:41.2

about an experience I had recently called on-site workshops. I am probably not super ready to talk

1:46.4

much more about it. I hope that's okay with you, but in the next few months, we will have the

1:52.3

director of on-site miles ad cocks on the show, and I will talk more and more about it. But as John
