Summary

UFC 307 was not one for the record books. In fact, right up to the point that Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. took the cage for the light heavyweight title fight main event, it was sort of a stinker. But then Pereira and Rountree went to war – and it was pretty glorious. Shoutout to Rountree for showing up and showing out better than we had any right to expect. Ultimately, though, it was Pereira once again proving that not only is he the best 205-pounder on the planet, but he's also the UFC's MVP. Seriously, though, don’t call him again for a while. He sounds like he needs some time off. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

there in Salt Lake City. Probably not one for the record books, I would think. Last week on this show,

0:57.5

we described this as a bit of a weird pay-per-view due to some of the matchups and your main

1:02.3

event there with Alex Pereira and Khalil Roundtree, kind of a surprise, light heavyweight title

fight. I would say that it lived up to its billing as weird. You had some weird

1:11.5

stuff happen on this pay-per-view card, some weird judges' decisions. You got to see a neck-crank

1:17.7

submission like you're playing the pride video game back in like 2005. So yeah, some some wild

1:27.3

and woolly stuff happened here.

1:29.9

But you know what?

1:31.5

What an unexpected treat, I think, in the main event of this thing.

1:35.3

Two terrific performances, really, from both Alex Pereira and Khalil Roundtree, Jr.

Pereira ultimately emerges your light heavyweight champion retaining the

here talking about that. We'll have some listener mail coming up toward the middle of the show.
