MBD, we had this pull aside that kind of became a mini summit between Biden and Z. And Biden said he mentioned the things

you want him to mention about human rights and Taiwan, but the statement from Biden on Taiwan was relatively

muted, especially compared to his serial statements that were going to defend Taiwan that of course have always been

walked back but he left out some of the pro- Taiwan, wrote material usually here from from a president.

I don't understand the details of this. Supposedly we got

assurances. We got assurances from China on fentanyl, although we've had

assurances before and they're setting up a military direct connection, a direct line,

which is a good thing to have. But my understanding actually in prior crises, the Chinese never pick up when you call.

So like, after we bombed their embassy in Belgrade,

no one picked up and when they took our surveillance plane down, they never picked up.

So it's not clear what exactly was accomplished here?

What's your take on it?
