trauma surgeon, academician, and all around just fantastic guy. Dr. Joseph completed his residency

at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, followed by a surgical critical care fellowship

Balal holds numerous leadership appointments and roles. He's the Martin Gluck Professor of Surgery

at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He's also the chief of general surgery, as well as

trauma and acute care surgery at U of A, Tucson. Of course, Bilal holds numerous leadership positions across all of our

key organizations nationally and internationally. Dr. Joseph has authored over 325 peer-reviewed

publications and 30-plus book chapters. Further, his research has been funded by the National

Institute on Aging, the DoD, as well as DARPA. His areas of expertise encompassed

TBI, transfusions, and fact replacement and trauma patients, as we'll hear a little bit later,

frailty as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. He's a fantastic mentor, person, surgeon,

and all-around great guy. We're super excited to have him on trauma
