Summary

Surprise! New podcast. I know we never release mid-week, but this topic and guest were too important not to share right away.

I’m talking with filmmaker Shannon Cohn about Endo What?, her new documentary. This new film not only gives all the facts and information that your doctor never told you about endometriosis, but encourages and inspires women to be more empowered with their healthcare choices to treat it. And it is beyond powerful.

Shannon and I discuss why more women with endometriosis aren’t diagnosed sooner, how her own battle with the disease inspired her to make this film, the impact environmental toxins play with endo, the number one diet change you can make to possibly help manage endo symptoms, and why women’s below-the-waist health issues are the last great health taboo.

I've included two links in the show notes. One is for a

Foundation for Peace Organization that helps victims of terrorist and violent attacks. And the

second is the Belgium Red Cross. Anything that you can give can help a dollar, five dollars. Maybe instead of buying

fancy lunch or new lip gloss, it can help the people in Brussels. All right, sorry to start

1:21.5

this off with a sad note. I just think it's important for us to talk about it and do something.

Okay, today's guest, she's doing a lot of things and helping a lot of people. Her name is Shannon Cohn. She is the creator, director,

maker of the new film, Endo What? And it's crazy because I've been trying to think of how to talk about endometriosis since I started this podcast.

1:49.8

Who would be the perfect guess?

1:51.4

I thought about having a doctor on, but then what if that doctor didn't have endometriosis

1:55.1

and she couldn't really talk about the pain and the symptoms?

1:58.1

Or I could just have on a regular person like me.

2:00.8

That's not a doctor but then I

2:02.2

don't really know the medicine part of it or the politics behind it and then I watched endo

what and then I found my perfect guest Shannon gives so much incredible information that even if

you think that you know a lot about endometriosis,

you are definitely going to learn something.

And if you're listening to this right now and you think, this does not apply to me, I do not

have endometriosis, I would say listen anyway, because not only is this woman incredibly
