<p>At a FedEx distribution center near San Antonio, a package explodes. Law enforcement officials quickly realize that another package that likely has a bomb in it has also been shipped via FedEx, and they race to find it. An FBI agent works to match receipts for equipment bought in the Austin area that could be used to make a bomb with a database of vehicles. She finds a match and officials believe they have identified the bomber.</p>

According to a FedEx promo video, here's what happens when a package arrives.

First, it's taken on a roller coaster of conveyor belts carrying packages as quickly as 540 feet

That's about 6 miles per hour, a good jogging speed.

Then, the package rushes through some tunnels with cameras to scan the package from all six

The camera's capture a 3D image and record the 30 serial numbers from the barcode.

Each digit represents something different in the FedEx system.

A computer reads a serial number and calculates where the package needs to go.

And a robotic arm pushes it closer towards its delivery truck.
