Well, I have a friend who is still in contact with Paul's family, and they all believe that their phones are bugged.

So when they have conversations, she rings from other friends' phones and gives her the number and gets her to ring her back so that they can talk.

There have been some developments in a fluid situation as this podcast series nears its probable halfway mark.

You've heard Bev McNally before.

Her surname was Stanaforth when she was a student at Chroma High, and a babysitter in the Dawson home at Bayview before Joanne Curtis was asked by Chris to come in.

One of Bev's best friends, and this woman, has pleaded with Bev, that her name not be given up, is also very close to one of Paul Dawson's daughters,

who lived in Gilwinger Drive a few hundred meters from Uncle Chris, an anti-Lynne's house.

And they think their telephones...

I'm aware from the case files that the New South Wales detective, Damien Loon, obtained warrants to intercept the brother's conversation two decades ago.

And it's possible that there have been intercepts since.

So it definitely isn't unreasonable to suspect some Dawson family phones would again be under surveillance, amid current scrutiny of this case.

And it's certainly true that police are currently gathering old new evidence from people including Bev.

In an earlier episode, Bev revealed her sadness and her guilt for not having come forward until now about what she says she saw as a babysitter in Chris and Lynn's home at Bayview.

Bev spoke of seeing Chris assaulting Lynn.

Bev said that Chris's anger could boil over at the smallest thing, such as a dirty glass in the cupboard.

And she witnessed him lashing out at his wife, shoving her roughly one time and whipping a tea towel across her back, another.
