AOC surprised the Democratic Party establishment.

She essentially found a glitch in the Matrix.

She was essentially off the radar and won an incredible victory in 2018.

And it's obviously not to take anything away from her and that victory.

But I think why the Mamdani race is as important

and probably more politically significant is not just because it was at the citywide level,

a bigger race, but because clearly the oligarchy, the establishment, essentially the collective

force of money and power, were very,

very prepared for it. There was no surprise here. They lined up behind, granted a scandal plagued,

but a two-term plus governor with a very famous name and a huge political network. They spent a ton

of money and they still lost. So to my mind, the elite panic

that you're seeing around Mamdani's victory is a panic that's way more, it's not just about policy.

It's not just about, oh, this guy's proposing free buses and higher taxes on millionaires in one city.

It's about that, but it's not really about that.

The elite panic that we're seeing, which is really unprecedented, right?

I mean, you've got billionaires melting down and, you know, people on CNBC having a nervous

breakdown, right?

The elite panic is about the fact that they were ready.

They used all of their weapons of political destruction against

Zoran Madani, the ones that have worked for 50 years in buying elections, and they still lost.

The panic is maybe we can no longer control every political outcome in high-profile races.

That's what the panic is really about.
