Summary

I'm at Burgos on my Camino adventure and about to head into the Meseta; an entirely different landscape from these first two weeks. Let's catch up with days number 9-12. 
also on the show, Dave has returned to Montana and is readjusting to life back on trail. Beth and I were unable to communicate in time, so we'll hear how she and Andrew have been doing, as well as their first experience of Trail Days.

But, oh well, that's where it goes. This week has been quite difficult to put together, actually. Unfortunately, I haven't heard from Beth for a couple of days, and I need a recording. So we're going to hear again from Dave, who's back on trial once more. He'll be on soon. But we're going to start with my Camino adventure, and let's hear now about days number nine and number 10 day nine never at 107.8 miles to azofra 121.8. 14 mile day. I sat well but it was way too warm in there.

The previous evening I'd gone for a stroll to find somewhere for dinner.

And just close to the church, I ran into Alison and Ruth,

the two Scottish women I met in St Jean and a few times recently.

They were outside an excellent tapas bar.

So we had a beer and a cup of glass of wine to wash everything down.

We were then joined by Bob and Jackie from South Carolina.

Bob is doing the hike, and Jackie is his backup.

She's hired a car and drives around, meeting him during the day for lunch and at prearranged spots throughout the day.

When he's done walking, she takes him back to whichever hotel she's booked.

So they're both enjoying the Camino in their own way.

I mean, he's making great progress and he's had a bit of an injury to his leg, but he's still going on.

In the morning, I retrace my steps to the bar next to the church and got stuck into the

English breakfast, a bargain for under eight euros which included eggs, bacon, bread and coffee.
