Like, they want their money.

They see the oligarchies throwing down with MAGA.

And yet they're like, well, maybe the oligarchy will like me too.

And it's not only a way to, you're losing both. You're losing the base and you're

going to lose the oligarchy ultimately when push comes to shove. You know what you're making me think of

is how Democrats love to say things like, you know, Donald Trump could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth

Avenue and they have no morals and they have no consistency, they have no scruples. And I don't disagree. They'll say things like they do deficit hawkery until it comes to war

budgets, which we're obviously seeing now with the big beautiful bill. And all of that is true.

I think what Democrats have missed for a long time is that they are also seen as similarly

inconsistent and bad faith. And when you have someone like Obama and Bernie, I think they share this quality.

Someone who comes along, in Obama's case, I think it was because he had a short political record.

So you didn't have the sort of flip-flopping that you see with so many other candidates.

And he came out saying these things that felt really ideologically strident.

His identity made you want to believe that he was telling the truth.

He had these fun bonafida.
