I'd like to welcome you back to trauma ICU rounds. And happy New Year, everybody. I'm your host, Dr. Dennis Kim, and it has certainly been a hot minute.

For those of you not in the know, I recently made the move back to my native Canada,

where I'm currently stationed as the new trauma medical director in Victoria

on the beautiful Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia, so very happy to remain on the West Coast.

It's no secret that the Omicron variant is raging across many countries in this world, including both the U.S. and Canada.

And so for all of my frontline health care providers, I certainly do hope that you're taking care of your

health, mentally, emotionally, physically, and want to send a big shout out to you and thank you

for your ongoing service and dedication. So while we've been on a little bit of a hiatus during

the move, a number of things have been going on in the background that

I'm really excited to share with you. In the first place next week, we are launching the

Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery or J-TACs podcast. And these episodes will be released

biweekly on Fridays and include things like author interviews with authors from the best of series of articles,

which is a new feature of the monthly J-TACS publication.

In addition, we are committed to your learning and education and trauma ICU rounds.

We'll be releasing bi-weekly episodes every other Friday alternating with the J-Tax

podcast. We're super excited for the content that's coming out over the course of the 2022 calendar

and also very excited to announce that we will have free CME and CEs available starting in just a few weeks.
