yes yes i'm eddie um for for my audience can you please give us a a background on how you got into the medical field

and and what your mindset was growing up and how you ended up questioning of you know like viruses

for instance and and and what heart attacks or what causes heart attacks. I want to get into that too.

All right.

So I grew up, you know, sort of normal.

My father and grandfather were dentists and a lot of their friends were doctors.

And I was mostly doing sports and but I was you know good in school and all that.

All I could say was I didn't like medicine.

I didn't want to have anything to do with it.

So I ended up going to university at Duke and I didn't like that very much.

And so I got out of there in three years.

I mean, I graduated just because I wanted to finish.

And I joined the Peace Corps and taught gardening in Swaziland.

And I didn't know what to do, what I was going to do with myself.
