America's fabulous freelance insurance investigator who went on the air in 1949 and signed off in 1962. He's yours truly Johnny Dollar. And today I'm shining the

spotlight on a pair of Johnny Dollar stars we haven't heard much of over the years on this show,

John Lund and Bob Reddick.

Both are actors who I think tend to get overlooked in the lineup of Dollar Voices,

and I think a lot of it has to do with who they preceded and succeeded in the role.

But before we get into that, if you're new to the

podcast or new to the character, Johnny Dollar was unique in the field of

radio detectives. He wasn't a cop or a traditional private investigator.

He was an insurance investigator, hired by companies and adjusters when there was a suspicious claim or some heavily insured goods

were stolen.

Dollar's priority was recovery of those goods.

He wasn't as concerned with what happened to the thieves as long as his company
