Yours truly, Johnny Deller. the Hello and welcome to down these mean streets and more crime solvers from the

golden age of radio. This week we're facing a deadline, not only

to solve the crime, but to prepare a story for the Morning Edition. We're riding along with some of the heroic journalists of the radio era,

a pair of fictional newsmen who dabbled in detective work,

as well as the story of a real life reporter who helped to clear the name of an innocent man facing a murder charge.

Up first is Stots Kotsworth is Casey Crime Photographer.

Casey sprang from the pages of the Pulps into his own radio show, where each week he helped

to crack the cases he chronicled for the Daily Express.

Well here Casey, along with Jan Minor, his reporter Anne Williams, in the camera bug,

originally aired on CBS on October 16th, 1947.

Casey is approached for advice by a young man looking to get into the crime photography game.

Later that day, the man turns up as an eyewitness to a murder

with some revealing pictures of the crime.
