After reading the intro to Anne Sage’s new book, Sage Living: Decorate For The Life You Want, I immediately reached out to her and asked her to be on the podcast. It was that good. Lucky for all of us, she said yes.
In this episode, I ask Anne to dive deeper into that intro, and she shares how she was able to overcome the fear of living/being alone, how she got through both a love and business divorce, what steps she took to live a happier and healthier life, and how she began to understand (and wrote a book about) the relationship between the spaces we live in and our interior lives. Sounds heavy…but there was lots of laughing, too.

0:00.0 | It's the one part podcast, and I'm bringing you lessons in next level inspiration. |
0:32.5 | I think the little extra beat is just going to be permanent. |
0:35.2 | I used to, I used to only do the little extra beat for special occasions, but it's always a special occasion when I'm with you. |
0:43.9 | No, really, it is. So new beat, extra beat, I mean permanent. Permanent. All right. So this week's episode is with Anne Sage. |
0:57.9 | And I found Anne on good old Amazon. |
1:03.3 | I was lurking through some new books that I was going to buy some people for presents for the holidays. |
1:05.9 | And I found her book. |
1:10.6 | Her book is called Sage Living and I clicked on it. It looked cool. And then I always do the look |
1:14.5 | inside option. So I looked inside and I read the intro to her book and I immediately emailed her |
1:21.1 | and I said, I got to get you on the podcast. And then I bought her book. I know. I should have bought the book before I emailed her, but I |
1:29.5 | knew already that I was going to like it because I did the whole look inside. I always got a look |
1:34.2 | inside. And in this interview, we cover partner breakups, meaning love and business breakups, |
1:48.7 | antidepressants, how food can help sometimes your sadness. |
2:06.7 | And most importantly, we talk a lot about her book and really the soul of the book is creating a space that is what you want your interior life to look like, which sounds a little heavy. It is, but Anne explains it in a not so heavy way and a relatable way. And her book |
2:14.5 | even dies further. And I actually included Anne's book in my little roundup that I did |
2:20.6 | of the best books to give and receive this season. Not so expensive to give most of the books in the |
2:28.6 | list. I don't have any crazy Toshan limited edition books that are $5,000. Everything is under 30. |
2:35.6 | So they're great books to give. |
2:37.6 | And also, when your grandma, ask you what you want, |
2:40.3 | and you're too embarrassed to tell her that you want, you know, |
2:44.6 | some sort of $50 incense or a nail polish that came from Paris. |
2:49.4 | Just, you know, tell her you want a book from the list. |
