0:11.5	I'd like to welcome you back to trauma ICU rounds. I'm your host, Dennis Kim. Last week was the 27th annual LACUSC trauma, critical care, and acute care surgery conference,
0:24.0	and I wanted to give a big shout out to the course directors, Dr. Inaba, Demetriatus,
0:30.3	Lamb, and Matsushima for an absolutely fantastic program. And the first in-person conference that I've attended since the beginning
0:39.9	of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was really great to catch up with friends and colleagues
0:46.2	from across the country. Personally, I was really excited at the opportunity to participate
0:51.8	in the pro-con debate, which is always a highlight of the
0:55.7	meeting with the one and only Dr. Matt Martin, in which I argued against the routine use of
1:02.3	pre-hospital pelvic binders in patients with suspected hemodynamics unstable pelvic fractures.
1:09.5	It was a lively and fun discussion, but more on that in the next episode of rounds, which
1:15.7	will launch next week.
1:18.0	Absent from the meeting were two well-known surgeons who often participate in the pro-con debate,
1:23.3	Dr.'s Ali Saleem from the Brigham, and Dr. Carlos Brown at Dell Medical School University,
1:29.7	University of Texas at Austin. A few weeks back, I had the opportunity to catch up with Dr. Brown,
1:36.2	and so I thought that it would be an opportune time to release the conversation that I had with
