Welcome to trauma ICU rounds. I'm your host, Dennis Kim, and today is national Stop the Bleed Day.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Stop the Bleed Campaign, this is a collaborative

initiative that is volunteer-led with a single goal in mind, and that is to save lives by

training people across the country how to stop traumatic bleeding.

This includes key skills such as, number one, applying direct pressure, two, packing wounds,

and three, placing tourniquets to bleeding extremity wounds.

Over the last few months, several of my colleagues from across the country and I under the

leadership of Dr. Kenjianaba, Jim Dodd, Mark Gestring, and the Education Committee of the American

College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma have developed virtual or online materials that can be

used to host a virtual stop-the-bleed course. More on that towards the end of today's rounds.

So before we jump into today's episode, which I'm really pumped up about, and I know I say

that a lot, but seriously, I'm really pumped up about today's episode.

I have a couple of asks of you, our listeners.
