Hello everyone and welcome to the Stephen King cast, one man's musings on the works of Stephen King.

Once I reviewed each of his works in the chronological order of publication, but Ka is a wheel.

It all goes round again, and here I am once more back at the beginning on a new phase of the journey

to examine each of the endings of the works of Stephen King, to determine whether

or not King deserves his reputation for having an ability to successfully land his endings.

The focus of the podcast is going to be to examine the climax, the falling action, and the

resolution of the endings of each of his novels, and break it down by character, by themes, by conflict,

and by plot to determine whether or not it meets the criteria of being an objectively good ending.

I'm also going to weigh in on whether or not I personally like the ending

to parse out the difference between subjective and objectivity.

Okay, everyone, today we are going to be reviewing the ending to the Dark Tower

Book 1, The Gunslinger, the book that kicked off King's Magnum Opus, his long-running series

that ran in and out throughout, within, around, into, out of the majority of the books within the Stephen King universe.

This is the sun around which all of his stories, themes, and ideas revolve.

This is the story that functions as the linchpin to everything that he has ever written.

So, no pressure.
