Summary

The San Francisco-Oakland area had baseball fever. Both of their teams -- the Giants and the Athletics respectively -- would go up against one another in Game Three of the "Battle of the Bay" World Series. People across the country tuned in at 5:00 PM local time to watch the pre-game with announcers Al Michaels and Tim McCarver. But four minutes later, the video and audio would both abruptly cut out. Then Al Michaels' voice could be heard saying something which shocked the audience: "Tell you what, I think we're having an earth--"

And mostly what I would like to do right now before I start the episode is thank all of my listeners for being exceptionally patient with me.

to the point where I spent one three-day period

in bed without the spoons to do more than the essentials. And I've been struggling to regain

enough energy, both mental and physical, to do more than drag myself into work every day

so I don't get fired and I can still pay rent.

Sometimes I feel like I started this as solely a podcast about tragic moments in history and now it's partly become a podcast about tragic moments in me being mentally ill.

But so many of you have sent lovely encouraging messages about me talking about being mentally ill.

So I just wanted to say another huge thank you.

I did kind of step away from the social media accounts for a little bit.

I stepped away from writing for a little bit.

I couldn't take a vacation from my job.
