And this particular podcast is going to focus on an individual. In my mind, one of the most important individuals in American history. But someone, if you were to get your typical seventh grade, as Tom Woods calls it,

seventh grade American history, you are going to be taught this person is one of the greatest villains in American history.

But of all people, in antebellum American history in particular, this individual is still studied

around the world for his contributions to political philosophy.

And so I think it's very important that we understand this person for who he was and not take that standard seventh

grade American history version and denounce this person or discredit this person because if you

want to have a fuller understanding of American political philosophy moving in particular, and moving forward with this

idea of think locally, act locally, federalism, and this type of thing, well, then you need

to understand who this person was and why he's important, not just for Antebellum American

history, but for American history today.
