I have a great returning guest today, somebody whose research I've had mine for a long time

Type 1 is an autoimmune disease, and of course our guest, Dr. Andrew Crutnik, will tell you more about that,

which affects the pancreas and really causes devastating outcomes over the long term.

Besides the fear of tightly managing a blood sugar all day long,

trying to get basic therapies, get basic equipment can plague people with type one,

navigating day-to-day fluctuations of blood sugar all the way up from 400, 500, down to 50, fearing hypoglycemic shock,

which is a lethal sort of complication of type 1.

And then over the long term, dying 15 years earlier than the average person,

which is just an abomination, in my opinion.

This is an absolutely ravaging disease,

and I have had the honor of working with the team of 15 people

to bring low-carb nutrition into the forefront of medical nutrition therapy for type 1.
